How long does a typical repair take?

Small emergencies are usually while-you-wait at the counter: a stuck mouthpiece, a fallen bridge, a tuning. Ordinary bench work, pads, corks, a regulation, a seam, runs a matter of days depending on the season, and anything needing ordered parts or serious restoration takes longer and we say so up front. Either way you will never be guessing: every repair starts with an estimate of what, how long, and how much, before we touch it.

The seasonal honesty: winter and back-to-school run busier, for reasons any band parent can guess, so the same pad job that takes two days in July can queue longer in September. Woodwind overhauls go to Frank, who served a five-year apprenticeship and specializes in them. Bow rehairing is done here by Dominik. Only the rarest restoration work leaves the building, and then it goes to someone we have worked with for years. Either way it takes as long as doing it right takes.

For our renting families with the insurance, remember the loaner provision: when yours is on the bench and a loaner is available, your student keeps playing at no extra cost.
