Instrument rental in Norwalk, Connecticut

Our shop at 547 Main Avenue is where everything happens: the repair bench, the fittings, and the string instruments on the wall. You do not need an appointment. Bring your child, try a few instruments, and ask us anything.

What we have in Norwalk

A repair bench with trained luthiers and band technicians working at it, which is the part most rental companies do not have. Instruments do not leave the building to be fixed, and small problems are usually handled while you wait.

A separate bench for band instruments, with its own technicians and its own parts. Pads, corks, springs, valve work and slide work all happen here rather than being sent out, which is why a stuck valve in October is usually fixed the same week.

A wall of string instruments in every fractional size, so a student can be sized and handed the right instrument in the same visit. Everyone who works here is a musician, and sizing takes a couple of minutes.

We also keep a warehouse in Norwalk, about 5,000 square feet holding more than 6,000 instruments. A good part of it is European stock from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, made in West Germany, Czechoslovakia, Romania, and Japan, much of it still in the boxes it arrived in. Wood that has had that long to settle sounds different, which is why we hold on to it. It also means that when a school calls in September needing thirty cellos, we already have them.
